SEE MONSTER is the 35-metre high, 450-tonne, retired North Sea offshore platform reimagined into one of the UKs largest public art installations in Weston-super-Mare.
Its transformation has been a challenging and ambitious feat of design and engineering.
It aims to inspire global conversations about the reuse of retired structures and design-led solutions for a more sustainable future.
It is open 9am-9pm (last entry 8pm) until Saturday 5 November.
Look on the website and follow its social media channels to check weather conditions and whether the viewing deck is open when you plan to visit.
If you can’t get to SEE MONSTER in person, a fully digital interactive 360 virtual tour of the installation can be accessed online.
The virtual tour has been created with production company 3Deep, in partnership with NEWSUBSTANCE. Specialist camera equipment was used to capture both aerial and ground based 360 photography of the structure.
There are layers of information and videos, showcasing the project’s concept and construction, along with virtual learning tools based around the various exhibits.
An audio tour and an immersive Weathering Together audio experience by artist Joseff Harris have also been created to enhance guests experience on and off the monster.
