You can enjoy unlimited travel for one day using a free West of England Day Ticket, usually costing £7, on all First Bus services across the region (excluding the airport and special event services).
This initiative is part of our Bus Service Improvement Plan, which we’re delivering in partnership with the West of England Combined Authority to support bus travel within the community.
Claim your free day ticket by submitting your details on the First Bus website and download the First Bus app.
The ticket voucher code is redeemable directly through the app until Monday 30 September.
Help shape plans for busy junction
See proposed changes to the A38/A368 junction in Churchill at an in-person information event next week.
We’re hosting the event next Tuesday (17 September), at Churchill Memorial Hall on Ladymead Lane, so you can see our proposed changes and speak to officers involved.
It runs from 3.30pm-6.30pm but you’ll need to register for a 30-minute slot online to help us manage capacity at the venue and talk to as many people as possible.
Our proposed changes aim to improve congestion and create more capacity for traffic expected in the future from the new Banwell bypass, new housing and the planned expansion of Bristol Airport.
Concept designs were shared earlier this year and show the existing crossroads converted into a roundabout with smart traffic signals.
A roundabout would enable the junction to function more fluidly and support a higher volume of traffic than is possible currently.
New pavements and four controlled crossings on each roundabout arm would also make it safer for pedestrians and cyclists.
The drop-in session is an opportunity for local people and businesses to help shape these improvements for the junction before final plans are designed.
It’s being funded by the UK government-backed Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP).
