Big bang events this autumn

Whether it’s spooky Halloween fun or a spectacular firework display, there are lots of events happening this autumn.

Nailsea Folk Club will host a special performance of Grace Will Lead Me Home on Friday 31 October at Nailsea Tithe Barn, as part of a nationwide tour for Black History Month. 

The stage show brings to life the story behind the award-winning folk album of the same name. Tickets are available on the Nailsea Folk Club website

Enjoy a dazzling array of light and sound as Weston Carnival illuminates the town on Friday 7 November. 

Pick up an unusual gift at the Hutton Moor Artisan Makers Market & Craft Fair on Sunday 16 November from 11am to 2.30pm at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre, Weston. Free entry to this community-based event, specialising in art, crafts, and a wide variety of local and regional food, all offered for sale by the artisans themselves. 

A decade since Dismaland is being celebrated at Weston Museum until Saturday 22 November. The exhibition showcases images from Barry Cawston and a small collection of memorabilia from a private collection. 

Halloween activities: 

Enjoy a Halloween Trail at Tyntesfield, Wraxall with spooky activities between Saturday 25 October and Sunday 2 November. No booking needed but admission charges apply. 

There's a zombie outbreak at Mendip Activity Centre, Sandford until Monday 3 November. You're invited to take up arms whether it be with air rifles, arrows or axes as part of the Zombie Response Team.  

Pick your own pumpkin as part of a programme of Halloween activities at Puxton Park, Puxton during the half term break.  

Firework displays: 

Choice between two displays at Fireworks on the Hill on Saturday 25 October at Clevedon Cricket Club, Esmond Grove, Clevedon. Site opens at 5.30pm. Reduced noise display at 6.30pm and a main display at 7pm.  

Fireworks, lasers and a fun fair will bring some spectacular fun at the North Somerset Showground on Saturday 25 October from 4pm. Tickets available on eventbrite. 

A spooky evening can be enjoyed at Frightworks at Sea, The Grand Pier, Weston on Friday 31 October at 6.30pm. Tickets available from The Grand Pier website.  

Enjoy a Community Fireworks Night at Hans Price Academy, Weston on Thursday 6 November. Gates open 5.30pm, fireworks at 7pm. Payable on the gate. 

Warm up and be dazzled at a Bonfire and Fireworks night at Weston Cricket Club on Saturday 8 November at 6pm. Tickets available on the Weston Cricket Club website
