Connecting residents with our services

Our mobile app, launched in April, has quickly become a vital tool for residents and the council alike.

And improvements are on the way soon to make the app even better.

These include the ability to report issues and look at planning applications.

Introduced ahead of the move to three-weekly waste collections, the app has helped thousands stay informed and in control of their recycling routines.

Since its launch, the app has been installed over 27,000 times, with 24,319 active users and 23,083 residents signed up for notifications. These timely reminders have helped residents adapt smoothly to new collection dates while learning more about what can be recycled and how.

One of the app’s most powerful features is its notifications system. This allows us to share key information instantly — and directly — with residents. For example, the recent Library Consultation was promoted through the app, reaching around 23,000 people at the touch of a button.

This kind of reach demonstrates the app’s potential as a communications tool, enabling us to update you quickly and effectively about a wide range of services.

Once the test version is available, the council will further explore how this improved platform can be used across a wider range of services.
