If you live in North Somerset, you can sign up to get your garden waste collected between now and the end of March, for just £30.

Whether you’re clearing up fallen leaves or planning how to recycle your real Christmas tree, this offer is perfect for:

  • New subscribers needing winter garden collections
  • Current subscribers wanting an extra bin or an additional three bags collected.

The offer’s open until Friday 2 January 2026 but the sooner you sign-up, the more collections you’ll get.

Garden waste is collected fortnightly for most of the year, then we collect it monthly in December, January and February. Garden waste subscribers can also get their real Christmas trees collected from their kerbside in January.

Eligible households are also able to get financial support with a 75 per cent discount on this offer, bringing the price down to just £7.50!

This isn’t a pre-payment for the next financial year starting next April. Renewals for that will open in February.

Update on the recycling centre booking system

Our new recycling centre booking system is ready to launch. However, with the significant changes to the recycling and waste service this year, we have decided to delay the introduction until early 2026.

The delay in introduction will mean that queues are more likely over the busy Christmas period, however it avoids introducing a new system so close to the holidays.

The delay will help residents, who are still getting used to the new three weekly waste collections, as the sites can be visited to take excess recycling and waste over the festive period without additional changes to take into consideration.

Residents with existing permits for visits to the recycling centres will be contacted before the new system is launched to let them know how we will be managing their permit with the transition to the new system.

The booking system will be introduced at the Weston-super-Mare site first and a few weeks later at the Portishead and Backwell sites.

More information will be available on our website

You can look out for signage at the sites nearer the time.
