Black bin collections are switching from fortnightly to three-weekly, but recycling will still be picked up every week on your new collection day.
Information packs outlining your new arrangements have been posted out.
The pack also contains information about recycling plastic bags and soft plastic wrapping, and a collection calendar for the next 12 months.
If you’ve not received your pack, please email your full address to waste.strategy@n-somerset.gov.uk
Properties unsuitable for a less frequent black bin collection, such as those with communal collections and many town centre properties, will keep their current frequency, although it’s likely the collection day will change.
Your new collection day means you’ll probably have different crews collecting your recycling and waste, as the routes have been adjusted to increase efficiency, reduce emissions and improve reliability.
Garden waste collections remain unchanged. Green bins will continue to be emptied on the same day and at the same frequency as the current schedule.
New app
Our new North Somerset Council app is making recycling even easier.
Since launching the free app in April, it has been downloaded more than 16,000 times.
Use the app to set up bin day reminders, get real-time service alerts and check how to recycle any item correctly.
Download it from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store by searching for ‘North Somerset Council’.
