Foster carers play a crucial role in supporting vulnerable children and young people across North Somerset.

It’s currently Foster Care Fortnight, run by leading charity The Fostering Network, and we’re shining a light on how our foster carers can help change lives.

More are urgently needed across North Somerset, and so we’ve produced a short film to hear from several local foster carers and a young person in care about their experiences.

Foster Care Fortnight is a great opportunity to celebrate all this work and as part of the campaign, a special fostering walk will take place in Clevedon on Sunday (19 May) for foster carers, children and young people, and our officers.

Our fostering team will be at events throughout the year if you want to find out more about what’s involved.

Carers of all ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations and relationship statuses are welcomed.

A strong package of support is available, such as training and peer support through the Mockingbird Family Model.
