How do you heat your home?

Households in North Somerset who do not use gas central heating may be eligible for a new round of funding to install a wide range of energy-saving measures.

We’re working with Bath and North East Somerset Council and Bristol City Council on the second round of the Bright Green Homes project.

The scheme will deliver energy efficient and cost-saving measures which also reduce carbon emissions, as part of our commitment to tackling the climate emergency.

A wide range of insulation and low-carbon technologies can be funded, including:

  • external wall insulation
  • cavity wall insulation
  • loft insulation
  • underfloor insulation
  • air source heat pump
  • solar PV panels.

To qualify for the funding you must meet these criteria:

  • your property must not use gas central heating – the scheme is only open to people who use oil, wood, LPG or electric heating systems
  • have a combined annual household income of £31,000 or lower
  • live in North Somerset.

If you meet the eligibility criteria, complete an online questionnaire and the project team will contact you to discuss the next steps.

If you have any questions email domestic@energyservicebristol.co.uk or call 0117 352 1180 to speak to the project team.

Together the other councils, we successfully bid for government funding to help local households install technologies which reduce carbon emissions and lower energy costs.

The criteria for eligibility were established by the government’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ).
