Following the local elections earlier this month, no single political group gained enough seats to secure overall political control.
Instead, a partnership administration was formed which holds 35 of the 50 seats on the council.
It includes Liberal Democrats and Independent, Labour, Green, Portishead Independents and Independents.
Cllr Mike Bell is the new Leader of the council and Cllr Catherine Gibbons, Leader of the Labour group, is Deputy Leader.
