Invitations to renew garden waste subscriptions for the year ahead have now gone out – and more than 19,000 households have signed up so far.

The current subscription year expires at the end of March so if you’d like your garden waste service to continue for another year, you’ll have to renew.

The subscription rate is £55 for each garden waste bin, and households can have a maximum of two bins.

If your property isn’t suitable for a bin, the same £55 rate applies for three garden waste sacks, with a maximum of six sacks per household.

If you don’t want to renew, we’ll automatically stop collecting your garden waste after Friday 31 March.

If you’re not currently registered for garden waste collections and would like to start, you can now sign up.

Tackling the climate emergency

Waste management is just one aspect in our bid to create a healthier, happier and greener North Somerset and reduce our carbon emissions.

There are many small actions you can take to minimise your waste, from recycling, reusing and refilling as much as possible, to refusing single-use plastic or buying second-hand.

Find more hints and tips on our the council website or follow the recycling team on Facebook and Twitter for inspiration and ideas.
