Spring has sprung and there’s plenty of activities to keep you busy over the Easter holiday.

Visit Nailsea Farmers’ Market tomorrow (Saturday 21 March) from 9am to 1pm when the High Street will be closed to traffic to make way for more than 50 stalls. 

Avon Wildlife Trust is holding an illustrated talk by David Horlick about the wonderful wildlife that can be seen on Walton Common, one of the Avon Wildlife Trust nature reserves, in the Gordano Valley. The talk will be held at the Folk Hall, Portishead at 7.30pm on Friday 27 March. Entry is £2.

Shop at the Monthly Market at Weston Museum, Burlington Street, Weston on Saturday 28 March from 10am to 2pm. Entry is free and the market offers a wide and wonderful range of local stallholders and businesses.

Weston Museum is also hosting a programme of events during the Easter holidays. Whether it’s messy play, soap making or toddler crafting, there’s lots of fun to be had. Visit the Weston Museum website for the full programme. 

Pick up a tasty treat at Clevedon Farmers Market, Queens Square, Clevedon on Saturday 28 March from 9am to noon. 

Try tennis in Weston-super-Mare at the Woodland Tennis Club Junior Open Day on Saturday 28 March from 2pm. Free and open to all ages under 18. All equipment provided. Find out more and book a space on the club’s website

The Nailsea and District Horticultural Society Spring Show will be held at Nailsea School on Saturday 4 April from noon to 5pm. Admission is £2 or free to members.

Take part in the Weston Hospicecare and Uphill Village Society Easter Egg Trail on Saturday 4 April from 10am to 2pm. Follow a beautiful trail through the picturesque Uphill Village, solving clues and discovering hidden eggs along the way. Last registrations at 1pm. Tickets are £5 and can be booked on the Weston Hospicecare website.

Visit the Pageant of Transport on the Beach Lawns, Weston-super-Mare on Saturday 4 April and Sunday 5 April from 10am. This is one of the largest classic car shows in the area. Food stalls will be available.

Pick up an interesting gift at the Clevedon Sunday Market on Sunday 5 April from 10am to 2pm. Showcasing local independent makers, producers, crafters, artists and more, the event is held outdoors (Hill Road, Bellevue Road and Alexandra Road) and indoors (the Princes Hall at Clevedon Community Centre, Princes Road).

Enjoy getting up close to some amazing wildlife at the North Somerset Bird of Prey Centre open day on Sunday 5 April from 10.30am to 4.30pm. Over 60 resident birds of prey, foxes, raccoons, meerkats, armadillo, mongoose, ferrets, binturong, agouti, reptiles and more will be on show at the centre in Smallway Leisure Park, Congresbury. All activities, handling and talks are included in the admission price of £8 an adult and £5 a child. Cash only.

Join the Dogs Friends Easter Walk on Monday 6 April at Uphill Beach. Further details will be shared closer to the time, including the start time. Visit the Dogs Friends website for an update. Uphill is a popular spot, so please expect to encounter on and off-lead dogs. This busy environment may not be the right fit for all dogs, so please consider your dog’s comfort level before joining.

Visit the eat:Weston Festival on Saturday 18 April from 10am to 4pm in the Italian Gardens, Weston-super-Mare. This free event is a delicious day out with farmers market favourites, street foods, local produce, plus music and entertainment and places to sit and enjoy the day.
