The Pride in Place funding for the Bournville, Weston aims to empower the local community to regenerate their area by establishing local neighbourhood boards.
The board has now elected John Wheatley as its chair and Chloe Critchley as vice- chair.
With £20m set to be invested over the next ten years, Pride in Place is a unique opportunity to create lasting change by putting local residents at the heart of decisions.
Thank you to everyone who applied for these roles on the board, the high level of interest shows just how much people care about developing the area for future generations to enjoy.
Recruitment for the wider board will open soon. Keep an eye out if you’d like to help shape the next chapter for South Ward.
The long-term nature of this funding allows plans to evolve over time in response to community needs, providing a stable platform for lasting and sustainable investment.
Areas identified for funding were selected nationally using clear published data, ensuring a fair and transparent process.
The programme complements other investments taking place across North Somerset, meaning project activity will also benefit the wider area and potentially bring in additional funding.
