Working in partnership with Locationdb — a UK-wide filming location database used by creative professionals — our Film Office is encouraging local businesses, property owners and venue managers to register their spaces for free.
A diverse range of locations is being sought. These include commercial premises, residential homes, gardens, warehouses, offices, car parks, industrial sites, vacant land and unit bases or parking areas for production crews.
Importantly, locations do not need to be historic or visually striking - everyday, functional spaces are just as valuable to production teams.
Once registered, locations will be visible to film and television productions across the UK, creating opportunities for additional income while supporting the region’s growing creative economy.
Locationdb uses AI-powered search technology, allowing productions to identify suitable spaces based on visual features within uploaded photographs.
A step-by-step guide to registering a location is available online, alongside access to the existing North Somerset Film Office location library, which showcases a variety of spaces already listed in the area.
With major studios and production facilities nearby, North Somerset is well placed to benefit from the UK’s thriving screen industries and has already featured in major productions such as Rivals and The Salisbury Poisonings.
Those interested in registering their property or learning more about the initiative can contact the North Somerset Film Office (filmoffice@n-somerset.gov.uk) for further information and support.
