We've launched a consultation on the Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) currently in place across North Somerset. These orders were first introduced in 2017 to help tackle antisocial behaviour in public spaces such as parks, seafronts and town centres by setting out certain behaviours that aren’t allowed in specific locations.
PSPOs are used to tackle issues such as street drinking and dog control in areas where these behaviours have caused persistent problems.
We review PSPOs every three years to make sure they remain fair, effective and focused on the issues that matter to local people.
This year’s review is now under way and we want to know whether the current PSPOs are still working as intended or if any changes are needed to ensure they continue to protect and support our communities.
The consultation is open until 9.30am on Monday 27 April 2026. Find out more and take part on our eConsult website.
