Free surveys and grant funding are being offered once again to help businesses in North Somerset reduce their carbon footprints.

We've launched the third round of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) Green Business Grants to help small and medium-sized enterprises and sole traders invest in sustainable practices.

Helping small businesses transition to energy efficiency is crucial for both our local economy and the environment.

Free carbon surveys help businesses identify savings and where efficiency improvements could be made.

Surveys are delivered by Future Leap on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fill in the expression of interest form on our website to get the ball rolling.

Grants are then available to help the business install any recommended measures to lower energy costs and improve efficiency.

For small and medium enterprises and sole traders, grants of £500 to £4,999 are available to fund projects such as insulation, LED lighting, energy-efficient appliances or EV charging points.

These smaller grants don’t need to have a carbon survey completed first. Apply before Saturday 31 May.

Larger grants of between £5,000 and £10,000 are available exclusively for small and medium enterprises that do require a carbon survey.

Applications will be open from Thursday 1 May to Monday 30 June.

This funding might be used for major energy efficiency measures such as solar panels, air-source heat pumps or other decarbonisation projects identified in the survey.
