Easter will soon be here with lots of family fun lined up over the coming weeks.

Many events are happening across the area, so here is a small selection..

  • Have a hopping good time during a free Easter Egg charity raffle and scavenger hunt at Somerset Hall, Portishead, from 10am-3pm tomorrow (Saturday 23 March). Free tickets but book a place through Eventbrite.
  • Exciting family fun awaits this Easter with session of archery, axe throwing, air rifle shooting, caving, tobogganing and frisbee golf at Mendip Activity Centre. Activities with an Easter twist run from Thursday 28 March to Sunday 14 April at the centre in Churchill.
  • Follow an Easter trail through Uphill to solve clues and discover hidden eggs. Entry is £5 per child and includes a medium-sized egg on completion. Take part from 10am-2pm on Sunday 30 March. In aid of Weston Hospicare.
  • Go on a magical journey down the rabbit hole and leap to the moon during a free event with storyteller Michael Loader. Clevedon Literary Festival is hosting the free event, perfect for the young and young at heart. Visit Alexandra Gardens (St Peter’s Church Hall if wet), from 2pm on Saturday 30 March.
  • Get crafty with some Easter arts and crafts during Old Manor’s Easter Party, from 3-5pm on Saturday 30 March, at the Old Manor Inn in Kewstoke.
  • See a free contemporary circus show and enjoy outdoor activities for all the family in Grove Park, Weston-super-Mare, from 12.30pm-3.30pm on Monday 1 April.
  • Experience the best in soap bubble entertainment. The Ultimate Bubble Show, at the Blakehay Theatre in Wadham Street, Weston-super-Mare, on Tuesday 2 April, is an artistic treat for all the family. Join international bubbleologist and Guinness World Record holder Ray in his quest to make the ultimate bubble. Tickets from Ticketsource.
  • Browse delicious food and drink stalls and handmade treasures from talented makers at Clevedon Sunday Market, located between the hill and sea. Visit from 10am to 2pm on Sunday 7 April.
  • Free fun for all ages can be had at Weston Museum. Join Professor Paul Wheeler for his re-telling of two classic stories. The Three Little Pigs can be seen on Tuesday 2 April, and the Three Billy Goats Gruff on Tuesday 9 April. Shows run at 10.30am, noon and 1.30pm on both days. No need to pre-book.
  • Enjoy some free muddy fun for all the family in Portishead. Muddy Days take place from 2pm-4pm on Wednesday 3 and Wednesday 10 April, in Willow Community Gardens, behind Portishead Medical Centre. No need to book, just turn up. Parking is available in the Aldi/Somerset Hall car park. Please do no park in the doctor’s car park.
  • Join Action Pussycat and The Easter Bunny for some egg-citing fun at The Sovereign in Weston-super-Mare. Play themed games and meet the Easter Bunny. Every child will receive a chocolate Easter egg and activity book. Various times on Wednesday 10 April.
  • Ignite the imagination during a superhero themed sand art workshop, at Weston Museum, in Burlington Street. Create a sand art picture, design a fridge magnet and do some colouring-in. Various times available on Friday 12 April. Tickets from Ticketsource
  • Find beautiful handmade treasures at Clevedon's Craft and Family Fair, on Saturday 13 April. Visit Princes Hall, Princes Road, from 10am to 3pm.
  • Find the best local food and drink when the popular eat:Weston food festival returns this spring. Head to the Italian Gardens, in Weston-super-Mare, from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 13 April.

  • hear vintage songs by Blitz Time Sally, from 10am-11am or 1.30pm-2.30pm on Saturday 13 April, at Weston Artspace in the High Street
  • create beautiful embellished squares of fabric, from 11am-1pm on Saturday 13 April, at the We Are Super studios, in the Sovereign
  • learn to make colourful origami butterflies, from 2pm-4pm on Saturday 13 April at Weston Artspace
  • Join a life drawing workshop from 10.30am-1pm, on Sunday 14 April in Unit 27 of the Sovereign. Reserve a spot through Eventbite

  • local artist Em Thomas is leading a creative art workshop, from 1pm-3pm on Thursday 18 April at Weston Artspace

  • a self-portrait workshop runs from 11am-1pm on Saturday 20 April, in Unit 27 of the Sovereign
  • socially engaged artist Karen Barry is running a mini-Craftivist session from 2pm-4pm on Saturday 20 April at Weston Artspace
  • learn how to make floral wands and wristlets during a floristry session, from noon-2pm on Sunday 21 April at Weston Artspace
  • learn to screen print and make your own colourful flags from 2pm-4pm on Sunday 21 April, at Weston Artspace
