Would you like a job that makes a real difference to the lives of people in North Somerset?

Whether you want to help support children and young people, or could assist older people to stay independent in their own homes, we can help you find the right job for you.

Website for children’s social care vacancies launches

A new website has launched to make it easier to find jobs in children’s social care.

We’ve worked with Jobsgopublic, the national jobs board for the public sector, to create a new microsite specifically promoting job vacancies within our children’s support and safeguarding teams.

Current vacancies include social workers with different experience levels and family wellbeing intervention leaders.

The website includes more information about the team, salary and benefits on offer, and what makes North Somerset a great place to live and work.

Could you be Proud to Care?

Finding a job which makes a real difference in the community while fitting in around other commitments might be easier than you think.

More care workers are urgently needed in North Somerset to help some of the area’s most vulnerable residents.

Whether you’re returning to work after a break or looking for a change in career, there is a variety of jobs in the health and social care sector which could fit around your life.

Becoming a care worker means you could make a positive impact on people’s lives.

Some of the most in-demand jobs include working in people’s homes to help them remain independent or support them to access services in their community, working in nursing and care homes, supporting someone with a learning disability or mental health condition, or being a personal assistant or connecting lives carer.

A Proud to Care recruitment event takes place next week to find out more about working in this field.

Drop-in any time between 10.30am and 3pm, on Thursday 22 June, at The Royal Hotel in Weston-super-Mare, to:

  • find out if you could have a career in care
  • speak to people already working in the care sector to hear first-hand accounts and answer any questions you have
  • speak to other organisations, such as Skills for Care and Prince’s Trust
  • get advice on CV writing or interview skills
  • apply for a job on the day.
