People who can’t get online to access council services are now able to receive face-to-face support from library staff across the area.

The reception at the Town Hall in Weston-super-Mare has operated on an appointment-only basis since the pandemic.

Most people have been able to be helped over the phone without the need to travel into Weston.

However, last year we trialled a scheme where our customer service officers visited libraries to help people in-person who couldn’t access services online or over the phone.

The service was well received but usage was very low in most locations.

An alternative plan has now been developed where library staff can offer this face-to-face support rather than customer services officers.

This means people can access support for longer periods and in more locations.

If you know someone who can’t get online, please let them know.

For complex enquiries where an immediate answer can’t be given, an appointment will be offered for a later date.

This new system is being rolled out gradually across all libraries. Find your local library on our website.
