Photographic identification must be shown in polling stations before you’ll be allowed to cast your vote.

If you want to visit the polling station in person on election day, you must show your photo ID before you’ll be given a ballot paper.

Accepted identification includes a passport, driving licence, Blue Badge, or bus pass. Check the full list on the Electoral Commission website.

If you don’t have one of these, or aren’t sure whether it still looks like you, you can apply for a free voter ID document, known as the Voter Authority Certificate.

Apply through the government website before 5pm on Wednesday 26 June.

Polling stations will be open 7am to 10pm on Thursday 4 July.

Details of your polling station will be on your polling card or check online.
