You must be registered to be able to cast your vote and have your say at the ballot box at the upcoming election.

If you were registered to vote in the last election and your details haven’t changed, then no action is needed.

However, if someone in your family has recently turned 18 or moved home, it’s important to make sure you or they are registered to vote.

The easiest and quickest way to do this is online.

It takes just five minutes and all you need is your National Insurance number.

The deadline to register to vote in time for the upcoming general election is midnight next Tuesday (18 June).

Poll cards are going out now, telling you your current voting arrangements and where to go if you’re going to a polling station.

You do not need to take your poll card to the polling station in order to vote.

All polling stations are accessible. If you require extra help, there are staff at all polling stations who are ready to assist you.

This could be help accessing the polling station or using specially designed tools to help you cast your vote.

Alternatively, you can choose a companion to come along to the polling station with you to help you cast your vote.

The presiding officer at the station will be able to help you with this on polling day.
