- Tickets are still available for the popular Nailsea and Backwell Beer and Cider Festival, happening tonight (Friday), until Sunday (20 July), at the rugby club in West End Lane.
- Have a go at environmental arts and crafts, such as seasonal wreaths, crown making and bug hotels, to learn about sustainability and local wildlife. The first ever Winscombe Festival of Arts and Sustainability is on tomorrow (Saturday), from noon to 6pm at Winscombe Community Centre. There will also be a parade of giant puppets for families to join, performances from local choirs, dancing and a village feast. This event is a pilot for a new bi-annual community festival of arts, culture and sustainability in Winscombe. In future, it’s hoped local professional theatre companies, musical talent and food businesses will appear.
- Fans of real ale and cider can tickle their tastebuds while helping to raise money for charity when the Weston Lions Real Ale and Cider Festival returns. Visit the Beach Lawns in Weston-super-Mare from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 July.
- Yatton and District Horticultural Society is hosting its Summer Show, at the village hall from 2pm-4.30pm on Saturday 26 July.
- One of the largest community shows in North Somerset returns on Saturday 26 (11.30am-5.30pm) and Sunday 27 July (10am-5pm). Portishead Summer Show will have three marquees hosting more than 300 classes, including flowers, vegetables, cookery, crafts, children’s classes, photographs, artwork, and more. Families can also take part in circus workshops, children’s fancy dress, see Irish Dancing, enjoy fun rides and more.
- The sound of sea shanties will be flowing through Weston-super-Mare when the popular Sea Shanty and Folk Music Festival, from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 August.
- Get your glad rags on for Nailsea Pride. Colour, joy and celebration is coming to the White Lion pub in Silver Street, from noon to 5pm on Saturday 2 August.
- Nailsea School will be filled with colour when it plays host to Nailsea and District Horticultural Society Summer Show, on Saturday 2 August.
- Find a great range of local food and drink when the popular eat:Portishead festival returns on Saturday 9 August. Visit the marina from 10am to 4pm.
- The Beach Rugby and Netball Festival returns to Weston’s beach for the third time, from Friday 15 to Sunday 17 August. Featuring competitions for men’s, ladies, mixed and family tag rugby, along with parties, music, food and more on the beach.
- A festival of music, fun and food for families and friends is coming to Nailsea. Trendlewood Community Festival takes place on Saturday 23 August on the Golden Valley School playing fields.
- Clevedon Show, one of the biggest community events in the town, returns on Saturday 23 (12pm-6pm) and Sunday 24 (9am-5pm) August. Enjoy a celebration of flowers, produce, arts, crafts and community spirit at Salthouse Fields.
- A varied programme of comedy, music and theatre continues at Front Room Theatre, in Weston-super-Mare. See the website for full listings.
- Free yoga in the park has returned for the summer season. Sessions take place from 9.30am to 10.30am every Sunday until 14 September, in Ellenborough Park, Weston-super-Mare. Look out for the Park Yoga flag. No need to book, just bring a mat or towel.
