Parks and open spaces can help people become happier and healthier – and North Somerset has some of the country’s best.

The Green Flag Awards scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the government, sets the international standard for the management of recreational outdoor spaces.

Flags are awarded in recognition of a park’s exceptional quality, excellent management, biodiversity, heritage and more.

Four of these Green Flags are now flying in North Somerset for another year at:

  • Abbots Pool, in Abbots Leigh
  • Watchhouse Hill, in Pill
  • Trendlewood Community Park, in Nailsea
  • Prince Consort Gardens, in Weston-super-Mare.

We work closely with dedicated volunteers and other organisations to maintain and enhance our green spaces.

New members are always welcome. Groups manage themselves but if you need more information, email parksranger@n-somerset.gov.uk
