Does your business, community group or organisation have a defibrillator on the premises?

Public access to defibrillators is critical to people having the best chance of survival from cardiac arrest.

Latest research shows that accessing these devices within three to five minutes of a cardiac arrest increases the chance of survival by more than 40 per cent.

The British Heart Foundation (BHF), in partnership with the Resuscitation Council UK, the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives and the National Health Service, has set up The Circuit, a national defibrillator network database.

Data from The Circuit shows there are nearly 66,000 registered defibrillators in the UK, but many more might not be registered.

Registering your defibrillator with The Circuit will enable emergency services, including first responders, to locate the nearest publicly accessible external defibrillators when they are treating someone suffering from sudden cardiac arrest out of hospital.

To find your nearest defibrillator, visit Defib Finder online.

This website uses data from The Circuit, though, so if the defib is not registered on there, it won’t show up.

Always call 999 in an emergency.
