For the next year, residents across the region can have a whole month of free bus travel thanks to the innovative birthday bus pass.
The offer starts in August so if your birthday is next month, now is the time to get your application in before it starts.
Register online by filling in your details and uploading proof of age (such as a picture of your passport, birth certificate or driving licence) and a digital photo.
Your birthday bus pass will then be made and posted to you.
It’s hoped this initiative will act as a catalyst for bus travel and encourage a long-term shift in travel behaviour.
Take the opportunity to hop on the bus for your regular commute, to go to the shops, a restaurant, or to spend your weekend exploring our beautiful area.
We really need more people to use buses to cut congestion, pollution and noise, as well as meeting our ambitious 2030 net zero targets.
The birthday bus pass can be used on most commercial bus services in the region, excluding school buses, the airport flyer and community transport.

The scheme is part of joint investment plan by us and the West of England Combined Authority to encourage more people to use buses.
We want bus travel across the area to become faster, more convenient, co-ordinated and better for the environment and your pocket than running a car and, together with the West of England Combined Authority, we’ve received more than £105m from the Department for Transport to do this by 2025.
