Abuse. See it for what it is.

We are supporting a campaign to halve violence against women and girls in a decade. The recently launched “ENOUGH” campaign by the Government helps everyone see abuse for what it is.

Every day, women and girls across North Somerset experience abuse, but abusive behaviours can be hard to spot.

They are often pretending to be something else. Control is camouflaging as care. Manipulation is mistaken for love. Sinister behaviours can slip by unnoticed.

Abuse happens in homes, in education settings, on public transport, online, at work, on nights out and in relationships. It’s often hidden or dismissed.

But the scale is impossible to ignore. Over 2m women over 16 experienced domestic abuse nationally in 2025 and one in five women have been a victim of stalking.

Here in North Somerset, help, support and advice is always available.
