Get your skates on - the largest outdoor, covered ice rink in the country is set to return to Weston-super-Mare this winter.

After a four-year break, the festive attraction Icescape is returning to the Tropicana on Weston’s seafront from Tuesday 7 November to Sunday 7 January.

There will be space for 400 skaters in each 45-minute session, with various sessions running throughout the day.

Popular parents and toddlers sessions, as well as designated quiet and disco sessions, will also be running.

Alongside the skating, there will be other activities such as rides and food and drink stalls.

When Icescape last visited Weston in 2019, more than 120,000 visitors flocked through its doors, travelling from all over the south west and beyond.

Bringing it back this year will mean Weston becomes the region’s festive ice-skating capital once again, which is positive news for the town, North Somerset and our local economy.

Transforming the Tropicana into an all-year-round entertainment venue with increased capacity is a key part of our placemaking strategy for the town.

We see this as a key element of our work to deliver improvement using the £23m funding we secured from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities’ Levelling Up Fund.

Tickets will go on sale next month, so keep an eye out on Icescape’s social media pages on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter), for updates and information, as well as its website.
