Improvements are coming to the Lake Grounds in Portishead and we want to know what you think and what you’d like to see there.

We’re working with Portishead Town Council to make sure the Lake Grounds is an attractive, fun, safe and biodiverse park that visitors of all ages can enjoy and be proud of.

Earlier this year we announced plans to invest £700,000 to help improve our three great coastal lakes at Clevedon, Weston and the Lake Grounds.

Some of this money is due to be spent on the Lake Grounds so we want to know what do you think – where should we prioritise our funding for improvements?

Find out more and have your say on our consultation website before noon on Monday 2 August.

Lake reopens for summer swimming

Swimmers will be able to return to Weston’s Marine Lake when it reopens for the summer season on Saturday 3 July.

The lake closed to the public earlier this year for ‘flushing’ to take place, naturally removing as much compacted silt as possible with the high spring tides

This flushing will restart in the autumn, while the council waits for a permit to be granted to remove the accumulated silt mechanically.

Read about flushing on our website.
