Does your local play area need a revamp?

We’ve got £250,000 up for grabs to improve play areas in North Somerset and we’re welcoming applications from across the area.

Town and parish councils can apply for up to £20,000 matched funding, from the £250,000 Improving Place Spaces Fund.

Our council budget this year promises to invest in children and young people and to do this, more than £1m is being invested over the next five years to create spaces for toddlers to teenagers to get outside and have a healthy upbringing.

We want childhood fairer for everyone, especially those who are vulnerable, disadvantaged, or have special educational or additional needs.

The maximum award for each project will be limited to £20,000, so as many projects as possible across the area can be set up.

Applications will only be accepted from town and parish councils and constituted organisations so if there is a particular play area you’d like to see improved, make the suggestion to your local town or parish council.

Find their contact details with the help of an interactive map.

The application must then be submitted through the council website by 5pm on Tuesday 30 June.

Projects must be completed by March next year.
