Cultural events can be found across North Somerset this month.

Enjoy the last days of summer and the start of autumn with a selection of music, film, food and more…

  • Unique screenings and live events are taking place at Curzon Cinema and Arts in Clevedon between September and December. Season One is a curated programme of live music, DJs, author talks, comedy, spoken word, Q&As and collaborations. The season explores themes of adventure and the natural world, how local roots are nurtured by global ideas, and the interaction of music and film. This season will run alongside the cinema’s main film releases. The events have been put together thanks to a £9,900 grant from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.   • Enjoy a Summer Sizzler in Weston-in-Gordano tomorrow (Saturday). See vintage tractors, stationary engines, classic cars and more, with a bar, BBQ and DJ, from 1pm to 5.30pm, in the church field in Weston-in-Gordano. Proceeds go to the save the White Hart campaign.
  • A series of summer music in the park is ending tomorrow (Saturday) with a four-hour extravaganza. Loves Café is hosting The Last Days of Summer, a curated afternoon of female led acts. The free to attend event is at the bandstand in Grove Park, Weston-super-Mare, from 2pm to 6pm.
  • More than 70 producers will be selling their food and drink at the autumn edition of eat:Weston, on Saturday 23 September.
  • The 40th anniversary of the UK's biggest offroad motorsport event takes place this month. See Weston Beach Race from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 September in Weston-super-Mare.
  • UK Pride in Weston will be filling Weston-super-Mare with colour, music and love on Saturday 30 September. The event provides a platform for the LGBTQ+ community, friends and family to be visible throughout North Somerset. Join the fun when a parade leaves Knightstone Island at 11am, goes down the seafront and up the High Street, to the main event in Grove Park. In the park will be two stages, community stalls, food court and family fun. Advance tickets available online or on the gate but spaces may be limited.   • Leading international chamber musicians and performers can be heard in North Somerset during a celebration of music and the arts, Somerset International Festival of the Arts. The festival, which runs from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 October at St Andrew's Church, in Church Lane, Backwell, aims to celebrate exceptional music making from some of the world’s finest performers. Events including concerts, workshops and talks. The festival also supports and nurtures music education through partnership programmes with schools and the local community.   • Weston Brass reaches a significant milestone this year – its 60th anniversary. To mark the occasion, an evening of top-quality music can be heard at the Blakehay Theatre, in Wadham Street, on Saturday 7 October. Joining the band is guest soloist Tom Hutchinson, principal cornet of the world’s number one ranked brass band, The Cory Band. Tickets from Ticketsource.
  • Dig out your 80s clothes, grab your dancing shoes and enjoy a night of pure ‘Gold’ when Martin Kemp returns to the Tropicana, in Weston-super-Mare, on Friday 13 October. The Spandau Ballet star is back by popular demand for his 80s DJ set. Tickets from Gigantic.
  • American blues harmonica player, singer and songwriter Johnny Mars is appearing at Nailsea Folk Club on Saturday 28 October as part of Black History Month. As well as being a great musician, he’s an entertaining and engaging narrator, and will be exploring the history of the blues and the experiences and struggle of black people in America.
