Help shape our weed policy

Would you like to help shape our policy on how we deal with weeds?

We look after about two million square metres of green space in North Somerset, from parks and paths to watercourses and open countryside.

To effectively reduce trip hazards and improve access on pathways, maintain leisure and sports areas and meet legal duties to control invasive species, we rely on a range of approaches - which currently includes limited use of weedkillers.

However, as we work towards creating a greener North Somerset, it’s crucial that we review how we’re looking after the land.

We’re now reviewing our weed management policy and considering whether there are viable alternatives to weedkillers.

Join the discussion at our Weed Management Inquiry Day, taking place from 10am to 4pm next Thursday (29 February), at the Town Hall in Walliscote Grove Road.

Everyone is welcome to attend, especially those who are part of an environmental, community or voluntary group, or town or parish council.

To suggest a topic for discussion during the day, please email Tess Skelly by next Wednesday (28 February).
