Expanding the public network of charging points will be crucial to meeting future electric vehicle demand - and we want your views on how this should happen in North Somerset.

Transport is one of the key components in our plan to tackle the climate emergency and reach net zero in North Somerset by 2030.

At the end of last year there were 2,800 registered electric vehicles in North Somerset, most of which are charged at home.

However, this number is expected to rise quickly in the coming years as more people make the switch from petrol and diesel to electric.

It’s anticipated there will be more than 37,000 electric vehicle registrations in North Somerset by 2030, and almost 2,000 publicly accessible charge points will be needed.

Our electric vehicle strategy sets out the anticipated scale of this and outlines the approach we intend to take.

Now we need your feedback on this.

View the strategy and have your say by noon on Thursday 6 April on our consultation website.
