Garden waste customers will soon hear how to renew the service for the year ahead.

The current subscription year expires at the end of March and we’ll be contacting all existing customers by Friday 10 March to invite them to renew for 2023-24.

If you provided an email address when you signed up to the garden waste service last year, you’ll receive an email.

If you didn’t provide an email, you’ll receive a letter in the post.

Invitations to renew will be sent over a two-week period so please wait for your email or letter, which will explain what to do and how to renew.

If you don’t want to renew, we will automatically stop collecting your garden waste after Friday 31 March.

New customers

If you’re not currently registered for garden waste collections and would like to start, you can sign up online from Friday 10 March on the North Somerset Council website.

Keep up-to-date with the latest updates by following the recycling team on Facebook and Twitter.

Creating a greener North Somerset

Are you passionate about compost, biodiversity and waste reduction?

We’re working with Garden Organic and looking for green-minded enthusiasts who could volunteer as master composters.

Master composters are trained volunteers who educate others – their friends, neighbours and the local community – in composting.

As a volunteer, you choose how to share your composting skills and knowledge.

This could include:

  • attending events
  • helping with workshops and talks
  • giving support and advice
  • writing newsletters.

Apply on our apply on our website by next Tuesday (28 February) to secure a place at the next training day on Wednesday 8 March.

Waste management is just one aspect in our bid to create a healthier, happier and greener North Somerset and reduce our carbon emissions.

Our website contains hints and tips on ways you can take climate action or follow the recycling team on Facebook and Twitter for inspiration and ideas.
