Becoming an adult care worker can be a rewarding job which offers the chance to change lives with kindness and support.
Connecting Lives in North Somerset has opportunities for self-employed carers and support workers, whether you’re looking for just a couple of hours a week or something more full-time.
We’re looking for caring, reliable people who are ready to help others live independently.
No previous experience is needed – what matters most is your positive attitude.
Connecting Lives supports people aged 16 and over who have a range of support needs, including learning disabilities, poor mental health, autism and dementia, through two schemes.
Shared Lives is support offered by you in your own home, either for the day, short breaks or long-term placements.
Alternatively, you could provide support in the person’s own home and local community through the Outreach Service.
Self-employed carers and support workers are needed, with flexible hours from two to 40 hours a week.
You will receive:
- £15.85 per hour for day support work and sitting service work
- between £98.47 and £157.98 for every 24 hours you support someone in your home on a short break
- between £27,883 and £44,546 per year when you provide full-time care in your own home.
For more information call 01275 888 368 or email connectinglives@n-somerset.gov.uk before Friday 28 February.
The scheme is CQC registered and the roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, so a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is required.
You will be self-employed, not an employee of North Somerset Council.
