Take time out of the hectic Christmas schedule to enjoy a festive sing-along, theatre trip or comedy show…
- Join a community Christmas sing-along in Weston-super-Mare’s Grove Park bandstand, from 4.30pm tomorrow (Thursday). No musical ability is required for this unrehearsed but enthusiastic free event. Mulled wine and hot chocolate will be available afterwards.
- Two enchanting winter productions are coming to Clevedon’s Theatre Shop. The Four Reasons, takes place tomorrow (Thursday). Enjoy an evening of music, poetry and traditional stories reflecting the depth, enchantment and solace of winter. Tickets from Ticketsource. - Festive mirth is coming to Portishead when four of the country’s top comedians perform carols and comedy in Somerset Hall on Friday (20 December). 9 Carols and Comedians features Tony Vino, Duncan Oakley, Paul Tonkinson and Steve Day – who describes himself as Britain’s only deaf comedian.
- Relive childhood memories or introduce your children to a timeless tradition with a festive take on Punch and Judy. A cast of colourful puppets embark on hilarious misadventures during free shows of The Grinch and Mr Punch at Weston Museum, in Burlington Street. Shows take place at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm and 2pm on Saturday (21 December). No need to prebook, just turn up. However, the museum does have a maximum capacity so once this has been reached, entry will be on a one in, one out basis.
- Enjoy a night of nostalgia and go back to the 80s and also raise money for a good cause. Ultimate tribute band The Rubix Dudes are at the Tropicana, on the seafront, this Saturday (21 December). A collection will be taking place on the night to help raise money for Somewhere To Go and help feed homeless people on Christmas Day.
- A tale of growing up, getting wiser and making unexpected friends is now on at the Front Room Theatre in Weston-super-Mare. Explore your wild side with puppetry and original music during this family tale, Yara in the Wild Wood. Suitable for ages three+. Various dates from now until Sunday 5 January.
