Community get-togethers this summer

Get out and about in your local community as popular events make a return this summer.

  • Pack a picnic blanket and enjoy the entertainment at Portishead in Bloom’s Big Picnic on Saturday 23 July. The picnic is on from noon until 3pm in Jubilee Park in Burlington Road. Hear the Portishead Concert Band, Highly Strung Band, Town Choir and see the Youth Centre Dancers.
  • Sweet smelling flowers, fruit and veg, craft stalls, music and more will be coming to towns and villages across North Somerset this summer
  • Try a variety of local beers and ciders when the popular Weston Lions Real Ale Festival makes its return from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 July, on the Beach Lawns, Weston-super-Mare
  • Entertainment, stalls and local produce can be discovered when Weston Dairy Festival returns this year, from Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 August, on the Beach Lawns, in Weston-super-Mare
  • Pirate crews will invade Weston when folk music and sea shanties take over the town. Weston Sea Shanty and Folk Festival takes place in venues around Weston from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 August.
  • Weston Beach Rugby Festival kicks off on the Weston’s beach, from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 August. The tag rugby festival will feature teams from across the UK.
  • Find a unique gift or sample local produce at the popular Clevedon Sunday Market, from 10am-2pm on Sunday 7 August, around the seafront, Hill Road and Alexandra Road
  • Pick up tasty treat at eat:Portishead. The popular food and drink festival takes place around Portishead Marina on Saturday 13 August.
