A number of events planned for this week and next have been cancelled or postponed due to the sad death of Her Majesty The Queen.

Please check with organisers beforehand to confirm the event you’re planning to attend is still going ahead.

  • Organisers for Café Mambo Ibiza Classics on the Beach have decided to go ahead with the event on Saturday (17 September). They will pay tribute to The Queen during the evening
  • Heritage Open Days, England’s largest festival of history and culture, is now on but many events have been cancelled. This year’s theme is ‘outstanding inventions’. You could still visit family-run department store Walker and Ling in Weston-super-Mare (during normal opening hours) to find out about its Lamson pneumatic cash tubes and take a ride in Weston’s oldest passenger lift. View and download the whole programme from our website
  • French Iranian singer songwriter Anita Farmine is the next performer to appear as part of Weston Bandstand Sessions. Hear her perform from 6pm at Grove Park bandstand on Saturday 17 September
  • Pick up some tasty food and drink when the autumn edition of eat:Weston comes to the Italian Gardens in Weston, from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 24 September.
  • Train fans can celebrate the 125th anniversary of the original opening of the Weston, Clevedon and Portishead Light Railway. An exhibition, at Parish Wharf Leisure Centre on Sunday 2 October, features 14 top class model railway layouts, original artefacts, historic photos, trade stands and more
  • A festival to make you feel good takes place in Weston-super-Mare next month. Weston Arts and Health Festival, co-produced by Culture Weston and The Arts and Culture Programme at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW), runs from Wednesday 5 to Sunday 9 October at multiple venues around the town. There will be free projects and creative activities, performances and talks. This year's theme is Global Weston, celebrating the rich diversity of the town and its hospital staff and the universal things that connect us - story, food, song and landscape.
  • The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club returns to The Tropicana in Weston-super-Mare on for a night not to be missed. Enjoy the tunes from 8pm on Friday 7 October.
