- Walk around Weston and spot the new artwork by talented urban artists. Local, national and international artists have created large scale murals on a variety of buildings in town as part of Weston Wallz. Find out more on the Upfest website or see all the locations on the Google Map layer
- Visit a show packed with celebrity guests, costumed characters, movie cars, Daleks, droids and more. The Stars of Time Comic Con is on tomorrow (Saturday 16 August) at the Winter Gardens in Weston-super-Mare. Tickets from Eventbrite.
- Head down to Weston-super-Mare beach this weekend to see the Beach Rugby and Netball Festival in action. The event runs until Sunday (17 August), featuring competitions for men, women, mixed and family tag rugby, alongside parties, music, food and more.
- Try your hand at walking a tightwire, unicycling, juggling, trike bikes and more during free circus skills workshops in Weston-super-Mare. Visit the Italian Gardens from 10am to 2pm on Monday (18 August) and Monday 25 August for Summer Circus Daze.
- Family arts and crafts sessions have been taking place every Monday of the school summer holidays in Grove Park, Weston-super-Mare. Visit the bandstand from 12.30pm to 2.30pm on Monday (18 August), Monday 25 August and Monday 1 September. £1 per child.
- Visit Weston Museum for a free family show of Three Little Pigs, taking place on Friday 22 August at the Burlington Street centre. No need to book, just turn up.
- A festival of music, fun and food for families and friends is coming to Nailsea. Trendlewood Community Festival takes place on Saturday 23 August on the Golden Valley School playing fields.
- Clevedon Show, one of the biggest community events in the town, returns on Saturday 23 (12pm to 6pm) and Sunday 24 (9am to 5pm) August. Enjoy a celebration of flowers, produce, arts, crafts and community spirit at Salthouse Fields.
- Free family fun with your favourite cartoon characters is happening in the Sovereign centre, Weston-super-Mare, on Monday 25 August. Children’s entertainer Action Pussycat will be there from 11am to 3pm hosting interactive games. Action Pussycat will then return on Wednesday 27 August for more fun and games.
- There’s still time to help ignite your child’s imagination and creativity during this year’s Summer Reading Challenge. This year’s theme is Story Garden, combining the joy of reading with the benefits of connecting with nature. Craft events and special story times sessions will be held throughout the summer, and children’s author Helen Docherty will be visiting Yatton and Worle libraries on Tuesday 26 August. Children aged 11 and under are invited to earn digital points during this annual challenge, developed by The Reading Agency. For the first year, children under four can also join in and collect stickers. Visit any of our libraries to sign up.
- A unique outdoor theatre performance for all the family can be seen in Weston-super-Mare on Thursday 28 August. Set in an around a dinosaur model, The Iguanodon Restaurant is a delightfully weird performance, which can be seen at Ellenborough Park West at 12.30pm and 2.30pm.
- Tickets are still available for the evening entertainment at this year’s Mendip Family Festival, from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 August, at Mendip Activity Centre in Churchill. Visit for an outdoor cinema showing, live music, food and adventure.
- An evening of music, dancing, eating and drinking returns to Hutton with the Big Bash 2025. The fun takes place in St Mary’s Field from 7pm on Saturday 30 August. Tickets in advance from Ticketsource. Raising money for the Hutton-Dabaso Twinning Association.
- A varied programme of comedy, music and theatre continues at Front Room Theatre, in Weston-super-Mare. See the website for full listings.
- Free ParkPlay sessions utilise the power of play to build happier, healthier communities every Saturday morning. Have fun taking part in a variety of games and activities in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment. Visit Castle Batch Green Space, Worle, from 9.30am to 11am, and Merlin Park, Portishead, from 10am to 11.30am every Saturday. ParkPlay is looking to expand into different areas. - Free yoga in the park continues from 9.30am to 10.30am every Sunday until 14 September, in Ellenborough Park, Weston-super-Mare. Look out for the Park Yoga flag. No need to book, just bring a mat or towel.
