A jam-packed events calendar continues in North Somerset over the next few weeks, from the Bank Holiday weekend to beyond…
- Visit a traditional flower show with the best locally grown flowers, fruits and vegetables, handicrafts, art, bakery and more. Clevedon Flower Show is at Salthouse Fields, Clevedon, this Saturday and Sunday (24 and 25 August).
- Have fun while raising money for charity during the annual Macmillan Community Day on Sunday (25 August). The jam-packed day, hosted by the Royal Oak in Nailsea, includes a car wash, market, raffle, sponsored challenges, and live entertainment.
- End the summer holidays in style at the Harvest Home Festival, from Friday 30 August to Sunday 1 September, at Mendip Activity Centre in Churchill. Enjoy an open-air cinema, pizza and workshops on Friday, live music on Saturday and various activities on Sunday.
- Talented urban artists will soon once again decorate walls across Weston’s town centre. Weston Wallz returns from Saturday 31 August to Sunday 15 September, when local, national and international artists will create large scale murals on a variety of buildings in town. Locations haven’t been announced yet so keep an eye on the Upfest website for updates.
- A night of music, dancing, eating and drinking is returning to Hutton next week. Hutton Big Bash, in aid of the Hutton-Dabaso Twinning Association, is on Saturday 31 August. Enjoy live music from Harrisen Larner-Main, Lipinski and Abbas Angels. Tickets from Ticketsource.
- England’s largest festival of history and culture returns next month. Heritage Open Days runs from Friday 6 to Sunday 15 September with events in and around Weston-super-Mare. Have a tour of the North Somerset Local Studies Library, featuring some of the library’s Birnbeck Pier archives; go behind the scenes of the Blakehay Theatre in Wadham Street; visit Woodspring Priory in Kewstoke; or step inside All Saints Church in Weston-super-Mare.
- Wish you could go clubbing but still have an early night? Over 40s who want to party like it’s still the ‘90s can get the best of both worlds at Home by Ten. Enjoy an afternoon of anthems from the 70s, 80s and 90s, from 2pm-9pm at the Tropicana, on Weston’s seafront, on Saturday 7 September. Tickets from Skiddle.
- Hear Ibiza classics on the beach when popular Café Mambo returns to the Tropicana on Saturday 7 September. Featuring Paul Oakenfold, Roger Sanchez and guests including Gok Wan. Tickets from Skiddle.
- Help celebrate the best of the British seaside in Weston-super-Mare. The Seaside Heritage Network is holding its Big Day Out in the town on Monday 16 September. Activities will take place at the Plaza Cinema, including talks about the history of the town, an update on Birnbeck Pier and a Punch and Judy show. Tickets cost £10 from Ticketsource.
