Events for a ‘hoppy’ Easter

The Easter bunny is keeping busy this month with a range of events for everyone across North Somerset.

Find out where the fun is and keep entertained during the school holidays, as well as free events to keep fit and healthy in the weeks ahead.

  • More than 100 local producers will sell their wares at free food and drink festivals this month. eat:Weston is on from 10am to 4pm tomorrow (Saturday 12 April) in the Italian Gardens, Weston-super-Mare. eat:Nailsea is on Saturday 26 April in the High Street and Crown Glass Shopping Centre.
  • Browse more than 40 stalls at the new weekly market, which launched in Weston-super-Mare this week. The dog-friendly market features food, drink, homeware, fashion, gifts and live music. Of the 40 stalls, 11 are from businesses in Weston-super-Mare and the others are from across Bristol and Somerset. Weston Independent Market is open from 9.30am to 2.30pm in the Italian Gardens every Wednesday until 17 December. There will also be extra Sunday markets on 26 May, 29 June, 27 July and 31 August.
  • Easter-themed events have sprung up at Mendip Activity Centre , in Churchill, over the coming weeks. Complete different activities to win sweet treats, including an Easter egg hunt, or search for dragon eggs underground.
  • Help find lost dinosaur eggs on the Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare every day during the Easter school holidays. The Easter Dinosaur Egg Hunt is now on every day until Monday 21 April. Meet the Easter bunny, free face painting and more.
  • Help the Easter Bunny find his missing bunnies. The bunnies are hiding around Nailsea High Street so follow clues to help catch them all. The sheet of clues is available from 65 High Street, from 9am to 4pm next Wednesday (16 April) and Thursday (17 April) and again from Tuesday 22 to Friday 25 April.   • Solve clues, discover hidden eggs and help raise money for Weston Hospicecare during the Easter Trail in Uphill Village. The trail is open from 10am to 1pm on Saturday 19 April. Entry is £5 per child including a free easter egg on completion of the trail.
  • See cars, vans, coaches, motorbikes, military vehicles, trucks and more during the Pageant of Transport in Weston-super-Mare. Visit the Beach Lawns from 9am to 4pm on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 April.
  • Follow an Easter Treasure Hunt around Grove Park in Weston-super-Mare. Find clues around the park to get a treat, and then enjoy some Easter crafts in the bandstand, from 11am to 1pm on Easter Monday (21 April). £1 per child.
  • Free music, games, water activities and more can be enjoyed during Clevedon Lake Day on Saturday 3 May. More details will be available on the Discover Clevedon website.
  • Traditional family fun, crafts, food and revelry can be enjoyed at Bleadon May Fayre. Visit the Coronation Halls from 11am and Queens Arms from 3pm on Sunday 4 May.
  • Free yoga in the park returns this summer. Sessions take place from 9.30 to 10.30am every Sunday, from 4 May until 14 September, in Ellenborough Park, Weston-super-Mare. Look out for the Park Yoga flag. No need to book, just bring a mat or towel.
  • If you need ideas of what to do at the weekend as a family, free ParkPlay sessions could be the perfect answer. ParkPlay utilises the power of play to build happier, healthier communities every Saturday morning. Have fun taking part in a variety of games and activities in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment. Visit Castle Batch Green Space, Worle, from 9.30am to11am, and Merlin Park, Portishead, from 10am to 11.30am every Saturday. ParkPlay is looking to expand into different areas.   • Popular paddle steamer The Waverley will be docking in North Somerset this June. The summer timetable includes stops in Clevedon, Portishead and Weston-super-Mare. View and buy tickets on The Waverley website.
