Find your creativity during a host of events across North Somerset this month...

  • Free creative events and workshops are happening in Weston-super-Mare to showcase the work of Weston Artspace. Tomorrow (Saturday), there is a self-portrait workshop from 11am-1pm in Unit 27 of the Sovereign, and a mini-Craftivist session from 2pm-4pm at Weston Artspace in the High Street. On Sunday, learn how to make floral wands and wristlets during a floristry session, from noon-2pm at Weston Artspace, or learn to screenprint and make your own colourful flags from 2pm-4pm at Weston Artspace. On Wednesday (24 April), explore portrait photography from 2pm-4pm at Weston Artspace. on Thursday (25 April),contribute to a wall of creativity using mixed media materials, from 11am-1pm at Weston Artspace. On Friday (26 April), enjoy an experimental mark making workshop from 2pm-4pm at Weston Artspace.
  • Follow a laugh out loud journey about personal struggles tomorrow (Saturday), at the Front Room Theatre, in Weston-super-Mare. I Don’t Have a Maths GCSE is the debut solo musical comedy show by Mia Borthwick. Tickets from Ticketsource
  • Visitors, users and lovers of Weston’s Marine Lake are invited to join a collective swim on Sunday (21 April) and find out about the work of the Mudlarks group. The Spring Awakening swim at 10.30am.
  • Nine Somerset-based artists are showcasing their work during the inaugural exhibition at Weston-super-Mare’s new Art Gallery and Studio, in Walliscote Road. Between The Lines, opens from Monday (22 April) to Monday 20 May, and features portraits, landscapes, still life and more.
  • Take a hilarious theatrical journey through the life of Jesus Christ. Popular comedy act Living Spit return to the Blakehay Theatre in Weston-super-Mare, from Thursday 25 to Saturday 27 April with their biblical buffoonery. Tickets from Ticketsource
  • Chat to RNLI volunteers and get a rare chance to go on a lifeboat during a family fun day hosted by Portishead lifeboat station. Visit the Pier Road station from 10am-3pm on Sunday 28 April. There will be a rescue display, refreshments and fun activities.
  • Raise a glass to legendary founder member of the Wurzels Adge Cutler, who passed away 50 years ago. The Royal Oak Pub in Nailsea is hosting the Drink Up Thy Zyder cider festival, from noon to 7pm on Sunday 5 May. Live music Adge Cutler and The Wurzels tribute act, Twice Dailies.
  • See the best of livestock and horses, along with rural events, crafts and food at the popular North Somerset Show, on Monday 6 May, at North Somerset Showground in Wraxall.
  • A new outdoor fitness race is coming to Weston’s beach for the first time. X Race is a combination of mixed terrain running, rucking and functional fitness. Join the fun on Saturday 18 May.
  • Popular food festival eat:Portishead returns to the Marina, from 10am to 4pm on Sunday 26 May. Expect a great range of local food and drink producers and live entertainment.
