We’re running two big consultations and want to make it as easy as possible for you to give your feedback.
You can still comment online by Tuesday 7 May or visit an in-person event to speak to our officers and councillors and ask any questions you've got.
Our venues for the Nailsea and Clevedon information events have changed and we’ve added extra Weston events.
The black bin consultation asks for your feedback on our proposals to switch to three-weekly collections of non-recyclable (black bin) rubbish, in a bid to reduce waste, boost recycling rates and cut costs.
This year we’ll need to spend about £5m disposing of black bin rubbish but a waste analysis found that almost half (45 per cent) of black bin content could have been recycled instead.
The parking consultation asks about proposed charges for car parks and on-street locations in Portishead, Nailsea and Clevedon.
It also asks about plans for a new short-stay parking permit, which we hope would promote local shopping and therefore benefit businesses and the economy.
We want your feedback on how you park now and what parking charge prices, locations and hours of operation could look like.
Thank you to everyone who’s already completed the surveys and been to see us at events in Weston, Winscombe, Long Ashton and Portishead.
From next week we’ll be at:
- Clevedon Community Centre and the Princes Hall on Tuesday (23 April), from 2.30-4.30pm and 6-8pm (change of venue)
- Yatton Library on Thursday (25 April), from 10-10.50am, 11-11.50am and noon-1.30pm
- Mizzymead Recreation Club, Nailsea, on Tuesday 30 April, from noon-2pm and 6-8pm (change of venue)
- The Royal Hotel, Weston-super-Mare, on Wednesday 1 May, from noon-2pm and 6-8pm (new events added).
Events are ticketed to help us manage capacity at the different venues and make sure we can speak to as many people as possible.
Find out more about the consultations and book your place on our website.
The consultations close at noon on Tuesday 7 May.
