Comedy, theatre and food feature in this month’s round up of things to enjoy in North Somerset…

  • See what the future holds at the Future Tech Weston showcase running from 10am-4pm tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday, in the Winter Gardens and Italian Gardens in Weston-super-Mare. The event showcases potential future technology, including demonstrations of an electric powered vehicle.
  • Live at the Quarry continues under canvas at the Old Town Quarry in Weston-super-Mare tomorrow (Saturday). Book in advance for a family workshop about fairy tales, a comedy workshop for adults, or an evening of comedic entertainment.
  • Loves in the Park will be coming to Grove Park in Weston tomorrow (Saturday). John Bramwell (from I am Kloot), Dave Fiddler and Harriet Bradshaw are performing, supported by Alex Lipinski and the Crown Electric. The event is organised by Loves Café, the Friends of Grove Park and Culture Weston.
  • Enjoy a host of outdoor dance, theatre and circus skills in Clevedon and Portishead this week. Ten Fun Things, organised by Theatre Orchard, includes a vintage dance show at Clevedon bandstand on Sunday (18 July), an epic outdoor musical theatre show for teens and adults next Wednesday and Thursday (21 and 22 July), and a circus double bill on Saturday 24 July at Portishead Summer Show. Events are free but book your place in advance on the Theatre Orchard website.
  • Tasty street food and authentic crafts will be among the offerings at the Continental Street Market in Weston-super-Mare, from Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 July. The market, in the Italian Gardens, opens at 10am each day.
  • A musical event not to be missed is coming to Weston-super-Mare, Sixty bands are performing in venues across Weston-super-Mare for the Weston Sea Shanty and Folk Music Festival, from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 August.
  • A brand new sporting event can be seen on Weston’s beach next month. The Beach Rugby Festival runs from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 August. Enter a team or just enjoy the spectacular.
  • Sample delicious delights when eat:Portishead returns on Saturday 14 August. More than 80 regional food and drink producers will be along the marina and in Parish Wharf.
